Time for Naidu, Lokesh to take political `sanyas': Gudivada Amarnath
By Newsmeter Network Published on 16 March 2021 3:00 AM GMTVisakhapatnam : Buoyed by the victory in recently held municipal elections, Anakapalli MLA Gudivada Amarnath said the time has come for former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh to take `political sanyas'.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Amarnath, who is also YSRCP spokesperson, said Naidu has lost face in Andhra Pradesh after drubbing in the elections.
He said the people realized that TDP did nothing for the state under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu and hence put immense faith in chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They have seen what Jagan Mohan Reddy did in the last 21 months, he said.
``During his two-day campaign, he only mentioned about the service he did to the people in Visakhapatnam after the `Hudhud' super cyclone but failed to mention about his efforts to develop the city,'' Amarnath said.
Amarnath said when Naidu was the convener of the NDA, he moved the idea of privatizing the steel plant. He said Naidu was successful in the disinvestment of Hindustan Zinc which finally closed the shop. Warning that another drubbing was in the offing in the ensuing ZTPC and MPTC elections, the Anakapalli MLA suggested that Naidu should opt-out of the elections and save his face.
Asked who will be the mayor of Visakhapatnam, Amarnath said chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy would take the decision shortly.
