TPCC chief Mahesh Goud fires back at KTR, claims BRS sold govt land for personal benefit
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud criticised former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for handing away thousands of acres to his people during his decade-long reign in the State.
The TPCC chief was reacting to the allegations by BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) against chief minister A Revanth Reddy about lands at Kancha Gachibowli near Hyderabad Central University (HCU).
TPCC chief asks for CBI probe in KCR
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, the TPCC chief stated, āDuring the previous government, KCR sold thousands of acres around Hyderabad as a gift to his people. Why hadnāt they fought for the Kancha Gachibowli lands in 10 years? If it was HCU land, why didnāt the court take notice when it was in dispute? The BRS leaders discussed the commission with IMGās Billy Rao while ignoring him on the land grab.ā
Mahesh Kumar Goud demanded that the State government conduct a CBI investigation into KCRās family and reminded them that the KCR family were the one who looted the most money in a short time. He described the KCR family as a āsafe haven for corruptionā and alleged that it was also the KCR family that carried out the liquor scam.
āAfter the Congress government came to power, we fought in the Supreme Court and won 400 acres. If this government had not saved it, 400 acres of land would have gone to IMG. KTR is talking with the resentment that the thousands of crores of commission he had talked to Billy Rao had gone. Any government can avail loan through an institution. Couldnāt thousands of acres in Kokapet be sold for Rs 100 crore per acre? This government waved off loans to farmers of Rs 10,000 crore taken through TGIIC,ā Mahesh Kumar Goud said.
āBRS deforested and sold one lakh acresā
The TPCC chief accused the BRS government of selling thousands of acres of land during their regime without bothering about the environment.
In the last decade, the BRS deforested and sold one lakh acres, he said.
āIf companies build on 400 acres of land, lakhs of jobs will be created for the people of the State. Is KTR ready for a public debate on the land exploitation that has taken place in the last 10 years?ā Mahesh Kumar Goud said. He also made it clear that KTR will be arrested one day in the Formula E race case.
Mahesh Kumar Goud also said that KTR is shedding crocodile tears on farmers. āThe Congress has the credit of waiving off farmersā loans at one time. If BRS gave Rs 10,000 to farmers under Rythu Bandhu, and now we are giving Rs 12,000 to the farmers. By giving a bonus of Rs 500 per paddy, the farmers have benefited financially. We are also distributing fine rice to benefit the poor,ā he said.
