Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Disciplinary Action Committee on Saturday suspended its MLC, Chintapandu Naveen Kumar aka Teenmaar Mallanna, over alleged anti-party activities.
The suspension orders were issued after Mallanna failed to answer to a show-cause notice, and the move was confirmed by Chinna Reddy, the chairman of the party's disciplinary committee.
On February 5, the TPCC issued a show-cause notice to MLC Teenmaar Mallanna for allegedly burning the Telangana caste census report. It has asked Mallanna to respond by February 12 or be prepared for action against him.
The disciplinary committee has given the MLC a week to explain his actions. The notice warned that if 'the response is not given within a week, stern action will be taken according to the Indian National Congress constitution.' The show-cause notice was also sent to the All-India Congress.

What did Teenmaar Mallanna do?
The Backward Class and Other Backward Class associations complained to the TPCC that Teenmaar Mallanna used derogatory language in a press conference which hurt the sentiments of the BC community. He also burned the caste census, they alleged.
In the show-cause notice issued to him, the committee said Teenmaar Mallanna has violated the party norms being a member of the party and action has been initiated according to its laws.
