TRS gets one more seat, Meena Upendra Reddy wins from Neredmet

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate, Meena Upender Reddy has been elected corporator from Neredmet division. With this win, the tally for TRS stands at 56.
The result of Neredmet division in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election has been withheld after a mismatch in the ballot. State Election Commission said that 544 ballot papers of polling station number 54 in ward 136 of Neredmet were marked with distinguished marks. "As these ballot papers have a bearing in the majority or declaration of the result, as per the instructions of TSEC, the declaration of the result has been kept in abeyance in ward no.136," said the Returning Officer of Neredmet.
The decision was made after Bhartiya Janata Party asked the returning officer to not to consider the votes with different marks.
Earlier on the day counting, Telangana High Court said if the number of ballot papers with 'distinguish mark' exceeds 100, the final result of that division should be kept pending.
The counting of the Neredmet division started after the High Court upheld the decision by the State Election Commission.
The TRS candidate secured 168 votes out of 544 votes on with 668 votes.
After the final result, TRS wins a total of 56 seats, BJP 48 seats, AIMIM 44 seats and Congress 2 seats.
