Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao will hold a meeting of the TRS Legislature Party at the Telangana Bhavan on 21 March to chalk out a plan to hold dharnas, agitations, and protests demanding the Union government buy paddy from the state during the Yasangi season (Rabi season).
After the meeting, the Chief Minister and delegation of ministers will leave for Delhi on the same day to meet Union ministers and the Prime Minister.
KCR said TRS MPs in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will stage protests in line with the agitation in Telangana. Stating that the Union government is procuring 100% paddy from Punjab, he said agitations will continue to demand the FCI procure 100% paddy from Telangana.
The CM said it is a life and death issue for the farmers of Telangana and the TRS is gearing up for an intense struggle this time over procuring paddy.
KCR directed all MLAs, MLCs, party state executive committee members, district presidents, ZP chairpersons, presidents of DCCBs, DCMS, and district presidents of Raithu Bandhu Samithies to attend the programme.
