TS BJP chief Bandi Sanjay calls KCR anti-national; CM replies practice for BJP leaders to label anyone as traitor
Hours after Sanjay's press conference, Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao held a second press conference to put the records straight.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 9 Nov 2021 3:19 AM GMTHyderabad: A day after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao went for BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar's jugular, the saffron party leader hit back at the TRS chief for allegedly insulting soldiers.
"KCR should be within his limits while commenting on issues pertaining to national security and sovereignty. He should not forget that he is holding a constitutional post. How can he say that Indian soldiers are getting beaten black and blue by Chinese soldiers at Indian borders in Arunachal Pradesh? Does that not amount to supporting China? Is it not insulting Indian soldiers who are putting their lives at stake under extreme climatic conditions?" asked Sanjay.
Hours after Sanjay's press conference, Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao held a second press conference to put the records straight. He said it has become a practice for BJP leaders to label anyone as a traitor who raises their voice against their flawed policies and against their undemocratic style of functioning.
"Since I strongly questioned them about paddy procurement and fuel cess, they are now targeting me and branding me as a traitor. They say I supported China by talking about the Chinese invasion of our borders in Arunachal Pradesh. What wrong did I commit? I only questioned the Modi government to protect our borders and sovereignty. I told them they can't sit quietly while China invades our borders. Chinese aggression in Arunachal Pradesh is being widely reported by the media. I talked about it. Who is a traitor? Is it those who alerted the government to stop Chinese invasion or is it those who are sitting silently as a foreigner is invading our country," said KCR.
He said that winning a seat here and there did not mean that the BJP was making a mark among the people. He said BJP has no support in the state. He said that the union government was implementing the `fasal bima yojana' (crop insurance scheme) only in Gujarat.
KCR said that the Telangana government will hold dharnas along with farmers pressing the Centre to purchase paddy crops at all Assembly constituencies on November 12.
The Chief Minister asked why centre was not purchasing crops in Telangana when it is doing so in Punjab. Seeking clarification from the Centre, KCR said the agitation will continue until the Centre purchases paddy.
Appealing to farmers to cultivate alternative crops this Rabi, he said FCI has made it clear that it would not procure boiled rice. As the weather conditions in Telangana would not allow the production of quality rice in Rabi, the grain grown in the season had to be converted into boiled rice to keep the broken rice percentage low, he explained.
