"The umbilical cord has been cut' he said.
On the occasion of Dussehra, KCR announced his plunge into national politics. To start with, he changed the name of TRS to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the national level. Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) formed 21 years ago to achieve Telangana Statehood and created history by getting it, is now Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). After 22 years, the TRS chapter (2001) as regional party is now closed and relegated to history books and enters BRS, a national party, with an eye on New Delhi and to capture power in the country!
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao proposed the change of name of the party to foray into national politics and it has been unanimously approved by TRS general body. At the dot of 1.19 pm Dasara day Wednesday, October 5, 2022, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao signed the papers changing the name of his political party TRS to BRS at Telangana Bhavan here in Hyderabad.
The move received sharp criticism from the opposition, one a staunch TRS man now an MLA with the saffron party, Eatala said "The party that spearheaded Telangana movement is over and its activists forgotten. After forming BRS, Telangana's relationship with KCR has been severed, the umbilical cord has been cut. Telangana public has lost its bond with the TRS. KCR's bond with Telangana activists and consciousness has been severed," said Etela.
After KCR formed BRS, KCR has fallen for the enticements of alcohol, money, and manipulations. He dreams of ruling politics in the country with illegally earned money.
"It remains to be seen how he will go about his dreams. One truth is that he who cannot pick up a stone from the food has gone to pick rocks from the river," he said.
Meanwhile the BJP it called it a wasteful national ambition. "This is not the first time a regional party nurtured national ambition. Many regional parties since 1947 have tried and failed. AIDMK, DMK, TDP, SP, BSP, RJD, JD (U), TMC and recently Aam Admi Party are few. I am wondering how, by just changing the name from TRS to BRS, a party can become a national party. A party need to get quantifiable voter support in multiple states for it to be recognized as a national party. BJP believes there's no 'Telangana Model' and it exists only in fictitious imagination of CM KCR. One can't sell a model to the nation, which doesn't exist. I strongly believe CM KCR's initiative will be a self sabotage. Change of the name from TRS to BRS will lead to losing his home turf, while he embarks on a wasteful national ambition, added K.Krishna Sagar Rao-Chief Spokesperson- BJP Telangana State
