Use social media to expose govt’s failures and atrocities, Jagan tells AP youth, announces padayatra

Amravati: Jagan urges AP youth to confront govt’s ‘failures and atrocities’ online, announces padayatra

Amaravati: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday announced that he would undertake a padayatra, touring districts across Andhra Pradesh before the next Assembly elections.

Jagan calls upon youth to fight ‘anti-people agenda’

Addressing the YSRCP youth wing meeting at the party headquarters in Tadepalli on Tuesday, YS Jagan urged party youth to actively confront the TDP-led NDA government’s alleged ‘anti-people agenda.’

He called upon them to reach out to people, highlight their concerns, and counter the government’s ‘failures and atrocities’ both on the ground and on social media.

“This is your time to lead. Go to the people, bring influencers into the party and expose the misdeeds of the government online and offline,” the YSRCP chief told the youth.

Recalls YSRCP’s struggle and growth

Recounting the party’s early journey, Jagan said YSRCP began with just two MLAs and faced severe political isolation after its formation but gained massive public support in bypolls post-2010. He alleged that TDP poached 23 out of 67 YSRCP MLAs after the 2014 elections, but the party withstood the pressure and continued to stand with the people.

Emphasises courage and digital activism

The former chief minister also stressed that the youth must emulate such courage and take up responsibility to strengthen the party among the masses and on digital platforms. “Your efforts today will define your future,” he told them.

Plans for youth wing restructuring

Jagan also announced that zone-wise working presidents would be appointed for the Youth Wing, adding that promising young leaders would be given responsibilities and prepared to contest in future Assembly elections.
