Guntur, May 21 : The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department ( CID) on Thursday interrogated 66-year-old Poonthota Ranganayaki, who was arrested on charges of inciting hatred against Andhra Pradesh government by posting alleged 'objectionable' comments on Facebook.
CID personnel said Poonuthota Ranganayaki has been habitually trying to mislead the public about the government. CID quoted from her Facebook page wherein she has criticized the chief minister on many issues. The latest being the Styrene gas leak from LG Polymers’ plant.
“Ammavodi- After AP CM gave Rs-15,000/- to Ammavodi, Children’s studies have been hampered.Auto drivers- After he gave Rs-10,000/- to auto drivers –autos are not running. Even now there is no certainty.Raithubarosa –The CM gave Rs-2000-/- for farmers. Since then, they are not able to market their crop.RTC Employees – CM has merged RTC into government. For two months, RTC buses are not plyiny.Government Employees – He promised that he would abolish CPS. But he has slashed 50% salary for Govt. employees. On 3 Capitals- One is Corona, second is a poisonous gas and third is farmer’s dharna,” read the posts.
Officials said she intends to create disaffection against the democratically elected government by misleading social media posts.
Sources said when the investigating officer confronted Poonuthota Ranganayaki about the posts, she could not give any valid reason or answer.
