Prisoner attacks Head Warden over mobile usage at Chanchalguda Central Prison

The event occurred following an argument between the two over the former using a mobile phone without permission. The incident happened on Monday night in the prison’s High-Security Block (HSB).
According to officials, the prisoner, Goli Rajesh, hailing from Khammam was arrested by Warangal police in a theft case. He was convicted and was recently shifted from Warangal central prison to Chanchalguda.

On Monday, during the time they are allowed to use a mobile phone, Rajesh entered into an argument with the Head Warden. Rajesh allegedly punched the warden on the face; inflicting injury on the latter’s chin.
The victim was rushed to the dispensary, and first aid was provided. Later, a case was registered against Rajesh at Dabeerpura police station under whose jurisdiction the prison falls. The case is currently under investigation.
