Hyderabad: Shock and anger have swept across Hyderabad after a 14- year-old mentally challenged girl was allegedly raped by four tipsy men at Dundigal on Wednesday.
Police said the victim had left home after a quarrel with her parents on Tuesday night. Since she was mentally challenged, parents were of the impression that she would return home after getting over the anger.
However, when she did not return past midnight her parents started feeling restive. They approached the police which immediately registered a case and started searching for the girl.
Later on Wednesday night, they found her moving at Rodamestry Nagar in the neighborhood.
Police sources said the girl was in a state of shock. After counseling, she narrated her tale of woes.
Police sources said after leaving home, she was feeling hungry and started begging. Promising food and money, the accused took her to a house at Devendra Nagar where they allegedly raped her. Later they abandoned her on the main road before fleeing from the spot.
Police sources said the accused were under the influence of liquor when they committed the crime. All four men are on the run.
Dundigal police have registered a case of rape and abduction, Massive hunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
