Hyderabad: The 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will kick-off from November 20 in Goa, will celebrate the great Indian movies, apart from screening films from all over the world.

Amit Khare, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Secretary, released the IFFI 2019 Anthem, which features a few glimpses from Indian movies that have allured audience in fifty years. ā€œSecretary, @MIB_India Amit Khare releases #IFFI2019 Anthem; the anthem is a harmonious blend of clips from over 50 films beautifully knitted along the Nav Rasas (sic),ā€ the Press Bureau of India tweeted.

The video starts with the narration of a Sanskrit sloka from the Natyasastra.

ā€œYatho Hasta thatho Drishti

Yatho Drishti thatho Manah

Yatho Manah thatho Bhaava

Yatho Bhaava thatho Rasa.ā€

Translation: ā€œWhere the Hands are, go the Eyes

Where the Eyes are, goes the Mind

Where the Mind is, goes the Soul

Where the Soul is, goes Essence.ā€

The IFFI 2019 Anthem features different ā€˜rasasā€™ of acting from the most popular movies of the world. The anthemā€™s video features glimpses of various emotions such as love, laughter, anger, compassion, disgust, horror, courage, surprise, and peace.

A few glimpses from Indian movies like Sholay, Bajirao Mastani, Tare Zameen Par, Haider and many other classic films are included in the IFFI 2019 anthem. It is important to note that short glimpses from the Telugu movie Baahubali are also included in more than one category of the above ā€˜rasasā€™.

Directed by SS Rajamouli, Baahubali, which stars Prabhas, Anushka, Rana Daggubati, and Ramya Krishna, has found international acclamation. Now that the movieā€™s scenes are included in the prestigious IFFI anthem, it can be termed as another feather in the hat for the makers.
