PSPK began shooting for telugu remake of pink
By Newsmeter Network Published on 21 Jan 2020 3:07 PM ISTHyderabad: Shooting for the Telugu remake of the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Pink’, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan, and directed by Venu Sriram, commenced in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Pawan Kalyan, in his 26th film, will be donning the role of the protagonist, a lawyer, originally played by Amitabh Bachchan.
It is rumored that Nivetha Thomas, Ananya Nagalla (of 'Mallesham' fame) and Anjali are playing the roles of the three parallel female protagonists.
'Pink', released in 2016, co-starring Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang, was remade in Tamil as 'Nerkonda Paarvai', written and directed by H. Vinoth in 2019, with Ajith Kumar, Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang as the leads.
The film, that sparked a lot of debate about issues such as rape, abuse, willful consent, marital rape and prostitution won not just hearts but also made its way into the Rs 100-crore club!
The Telugu remake of this courtroom drama marks the comeback of the Jana Sena Party President, who had taken a hiatus from movies to focus on his political career. He was last seen in Agnyaathavaasi alongside Anu Emmanuel and Keerthy Suresh in 2018.
The news comes as relief to all his fans, who were eagerly waiting for his silver screen return.
Last week, Pawan Kalyan announced Jana Sena Party’s alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Andhra Pradesh.
The untitled project, which is already breaking the internet with #PSPK26, is being produced by Boney Kapoor in collaboration with Dil Raju, under the Bayview Projects LLP banner, in association with Sri Venkateswara Creations. Thaman will be giving the music to this thriller, tentatively set to release in May.
