Rachakonda police saves kidnap victim within 24 hours of filing complaint

Muli Malyadri, a Kothapet resident of Nellore district, went missing on December 15, 2019. His wife filed a complaint with the Hayatnagar police station, and they started a probe. The gang had forced Malyadri into a car by the accused and taken to Bengaluru. The group restrained the victim in a lodge room in the Karnataka capital.
According to police, Malyadri used to run chit funds in Bengaluru. The accused, KV Vijaya Kumar, had invested Rs 5 lakh in Malyadriās chit funds. The latter returned the money after completing the chit period, and Vijaya had reinvested Rs 3 lakh. Vijaya also got his friend Mohana Rao to invest Rs 2 lakh, but Malyadri fled to his hometown without repaying the money. The accused kidnapped Malyadri to recover their money.
Based on the complaint, Hayatnagar police arrested six people āKV Vijaya Kumar, G Mohana Rao, Ravi Chandr, R Giriprasad, Navaneeth Krishna and ND Pratap. A team led by Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat arrested the accused within 24 hours. After the accused to the offence, police booked a case under Sections 34 and 366 of the IPC. The officers have produced the accused before a court for judicial custody.
