Rajnikanth to make TV debut with Bear Grylls Into the Wild

Hyderabad: Superstar Rajnikanth will guest star in Bear Grylls' upcoming episode of Into the Wild. Grylls, known for his survival TV shows like Man vs. Wild, Running Wild with Bear Grylls, and The Island with Bear Grylls, tweeted the trailer of his upcoming episode which was shot at Bandipur Tiger Reserve and is scheduled to air at 8 p.m on 23 March on Discovery Channel.

The trailer, which opens like the superstar’s movie trailers, has garnered a lot of attention online. The opening shot shows Rajini driving up in an ATV and jumping off the vehicle in his signature style. The one-minute trailer then goes on to show the superstar and Bear Grylls scaling the side of a hill, crossing a river and a precarious ravine, and even hints at the duo coming face to face with an elephant and a tiger. The superstar is seen exuding his signature charisma even showing Bear Grylls his trademark sunglasses flip. The introduction text of the trailer is also in the style of the opening credits of Rajini’s movies.

Interestingly, this will be Rajnikanth’s first appearance on the small screen after more than 43 years of ruling the big screen. This will no doubt portray a side of the superstar that none of his fans have gotten to see. While his fans have seen him tame snakes and bulls in various movies such as Annamalai and Padayappa, they would get to see their superstar interact with wild animals in real life for the first time.

The previous installment of Into the Wild featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was shot at the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand in February last year.
