Hyderabad: The Moinabad police has arrested TRS leader and businessman Bathuku Madhusudan, also known as Madhu Yadav, who has been accused of the rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl. Yadav was produced before the court and sent to the Cherlapally Central prison on 28 September.

The teenage girl was found dead at the TRS leader's residence under suspicious circumstances a few days ago.

The victim and her sister had been working as domestic help at Yadav's home for the past four years. The sister, in her complaint to the police, said they lost their mother in their childhood and their father had remarried. Due to financial problems, the two sisters had sought work at Yadav's home at Himayathnagar village.

According to the sister, for the past several days Yadav came home drunk and harassed the two girls at night. On 24 September, she woke up around 10 p.m and saw the TRS leader talking to her sister. Then Yadav took the girl to the second floor allegedly for some work. The next day she woke up and found that her elder sister had ended her life. The younger sister suspected Yadav's hand in her death and filed a complaint requesting the police to take necessary action against him.

Meanwhile, Yadav told the victim’s sister to tell the police that her elder sister was suffering from stomach ache and unable to bear the pain, she had killed herself.

The girl also alleged that they were frequently subjected to verbal abuse due to which her elder sister may have committed suicide. She claimed that they had been working as child labourers at Yadav's home. Based on her statement, Yadav was arrested under the Nirbhaya Act and child labour law. Madhu Yadav
