2 held in Kurnool for cheating people with promises of sex chats
The Kurnool police on Saturday arrested two persons on the charging of duping people by sending bulk mobile phone porn chat links and videos.

The two have been identified as T. Janardhan (27) and B. Praveen Kumar (34). Both are from Kurnool. The duo used to lure and trap people by sending bulk messages, including porn chat links, videos, and photos.
The two men used to promise the people intimate chats and video calls with girls and women. They used to send bulk messages to nearly 1,000 people a day. They collected small amounts, between Rs. 500-5,000, from those who fell prey to their racket through mobile wallet apps. The police found that the duo used to collect Rs. 20,000 per day and have been in the business for over two years.
The police started investigating following complaints from a few victims who had lost their money to the racket. They arrested the duo on Saturday and recovered 31 mobile phones, one four-wheeler, and a two-wheeler from them.
5 red sanders smugglers nabbed
In another case, the Kadapa police arrested a group of five red sanders smugglers and seized 20 red sanders logs weighing 446 kgs from their possession near the forest area at Nagapatnam village under Khazipet mandal in Kadapa district on Saturday.
The accused were identified as M. Allurayya (25), M. Rosaiah (24), K. Sriramulu (48), N. Tirupati (25), and B. Madhu (26).
The Kadapa police have warned red sanders smugglers to put an end to their smuggling activities to preserve the red sanders species endemic to the Seshachalam biosphere.
Meanwhile, the police also arrested a four-member dacoit gang on charges of way-laying two persons and robbing them of their valuables near Charitha Dhaba along NH-40 near Bhumayapalli village under Khazipet mandal on Friday. The accused were identified as Sheik Mubarak (25), Sayyed Aslam (26), Sheik Saddam (22), and M. Srinivasa Raju (22). A knife, Rs. 4,000 cash, and two motorbikes were seized from them.
