ACB arrests Parvathipuram Dy Medical Officer in disproportionate assets case

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Deputy District Medical Health Officer, Parvathipuram, Mallidi Markandeya Ravi Kumar Reddy for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.

Vizianagaram: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Deputy District Medical Health Officer, Parvathipuram, Mallidi Markandeya Ravi Kumar Reddy for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.

ACB officials carried out searches at the residence of Reddy at Bobbili and eight other places after receiving information that he was having assets disproportionate to the known source of income.

A native of Marteru village, Penugonda Mandal, West Godavari District, he joined government service on November 29, 2003, as Civil Assistant Surgeon in the Medical and Health Department at Jiyyammavalasa, Vizianagaram district. He remained on this post till 2009.

He has also worked as Civil Assistant Surgeon at Pakki of Bobbli Mandal in Vizianagaram District. He has been working as Deputy DM & HO, ITDA, Parvathipuram, Vizianagaram since June 2018.

ACB officials said Reddy and his family members were in possession of four houses, one house site, 28 Acres of Agricultural Land, one four-wheeler, gold articles, bank balance, household articles, and cash all worth Rs 3.70 Crores.

Preliminary investigation revealed that he is in possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs.2.1 Crores. Further investigation is in progress. He is being arrested and produced before the ACB Court in Visakhapatnam.
