West Godavari: Security has been beefed up ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bhimavaram in the West Godavari district on July 4.
Modi will be participating in Alluri Seetharama Raju's 125th birth anniversary celebration.
The PM will also unveil a 30-feet statue of Alluri at S.R. Nagar in Bhimavaram and address a public meeting.
As part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, the freedom fighter's history and contributions to the nation will be explained to the public.
Week-long celebrations are planned. On 29 June, a 125-feet National Flag will be unfurled and a cycle rally will be taken out on 30 June. mnmnmmnmn
Traffic arrangements
Special Protection Group (SPG), along with the police and revenue officials are preparing for foolproof security at the venue. SPG Additional Inspector General of Police Himanshu Gupta, Director (cultural) Atul Mishra asked the officials to divert traffic during the PM's visit. Just in case of bad weather, the officials will have to make alternative arrangements for the road journey from Vijayawada to Bhimavaram.
