Amaravati: Giving in to employees' demands, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to clear their Rs 3,000 crore arrears by March 31. This move came in after employees threatened to launch protests on March 9. A Group of Ministers (GoM) comprising Buggana Rajendranath, Audimulapu Suresh, Botcha Satyanarayana, Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna, and Chief secretary KS Jawahar Reddy held talks with the employees' leaders. The GoM decided to clear all dues related to Government Provident Fund (GPF), gratuity, leave encashment, medical bills, and other allowances.
"Employees are part of the government, and YSRCP is committed to resolving their grievances. We have discussed the pending issues with the employees' associations, and the arrears to the tune of nearly Rs 3,000 crore will be paid to them by this month's end," Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said, He further said that the government would take care of their welfare, and would always keep its doors open for its employees to discuss their issues. Earlier, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the ministers and the government advisor to hold talks with the employees' representatives and resolve the issues.
