Andhra to call fresh tenders for Amaravati developmental works
Ponguru Narayana declared on Monday that the process to call for fresh tenders will begin soon

Amaravati: Maintaining that the way for closing old tenders has turned into an obstacle for Amaravati developmental works, the minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Ponguru Narayana declared on Monday that the process to call for fresh tenders will begin soon.
Stating that the 39th Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting was held under the leadership of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat here, the minister told media persons that all the developmental works in Amaravati will be completed in another three years.
Construction of High Court, Assembly among Amaravati developmental works
The 39th CRDA meeting is said to have taken various decisions concerning Amaravati's developmental works.
Tenders have been called between 2014 and 2019 for works worth Rs 41,000 crores in Amaravati of which works amounting to Rs 35,000 crores have been launched, Ponguru Narayana said. Works have been taken up for the construction of the High Court and State Assembly along with several roads and residential complexes for the judges, ministers and officers.

Alleging that the previous government has neglected the ongoing works in the name of three capitals, Narayana said that even bills worth several crores for various agencies which have taken up the works have been kept pending.
āA technical committee comprising chief engineers was constituted on July 24 to formulate the norms to resolve such issues about pending bills of the past tenders and close the matter permanently,ā he said.
Stating that the panel submitted its report on October 29 with 23 points, the MAUD minister said that Mondayās CRDA meeting discussed the report in detail and approved it. As per the 23 recommendations of the committee all the old tenders will be closed and fresh tenders will be called, he added.

Except for the High Court and the Assembly building works tenders will be called for all other works before December 31, while for the High Court and the Assembly works tenders will be called by next January, Narayana said. All these works will be completed within the next three years after which Amaravati will be one of the best five cities in the world, he said.
The minister said that the World Bank has given its consent to release Rs 15,000 crores for Amaravati works and stated that the bank representatives, however, asked the State Government to complete the works related to the flood prevention works as soon as possible.
āAs part of this exercise, reservoirs are being constructed in various parts including the 217-km stretch of the capital city of Amaravati,ā the minister said.
The reservoirs are being constructed at Kondaveeti and Palavagu as per the Netherlands' gravity canal reservoirs. Storage reservoirs will be built at Neerukonda, Krishnayapalem, Sakhamuru and Vundavalli, Narayana said.
The minister for Municipal Administration said that the Inner Ring Road (IRR) and Outer Ring Road (ORR) will certainly be taken up despite the bypass roads around the capital city of Amaravati.
