Andhra to set up 70 aqua hubs, 14k spokes; will generate 80k jobs

Vijayawada: More than 70 aqua hubs and 14,000 spokes would be established in Andhra Pradesh by June 2022.

In a review meeting chaired by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, officials said three pre-processing facilities and 10 processing plants will also be set up. Nine organizations have been roped in.

Officials said work on fishing harbors in Juvvaladinne, Nizampatnam, and Machilipatnam is underway. They promised to complete the job in four months. Work on the Uppada project will also be speeded up.

Officials informed the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that the Aqua hubs and spokes shall provide employment to roughly 80,000 individuals directly and indirectly.

Chief Minister stated that infrastructure development projects should be made available to farmers and agriculture-related industries as quickly as possible in order to provide farmers with additional revenue.

He said change must be felt on the ground. He said all constructions including warehouses should be built as quickly as possible. By next year, he added, a natural custom hiring center for organic farming should be established at every RBK level. He urged authorities to raise awareness among farmers about it.

Chief Minister further instructed authorities to prepare for the machinery and equipment needed for organic farming at each RBK. He called for formulating a program to incentivize farmers who utilize these methods.

Chief Minister reviewed fundraising and tie-up for 15 different projects. The state government has spent around Rs 16,320.83 crore on these projects.
