Andhra to witness gusty winds, heavy rainfall over next five days
Amaravati: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in many parts of Andhra Pradesh over the next five days.
According to the India Meteorological Department, isolated heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Rayalaseema during August 12 - 14, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on August 13 - 14.
Strong surface winds blowing at 40-50 kmph are very likely to hit South Peninsular India during the next 2 days.
On Wednesday, a light thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, gusty winds blowing at 30-40 kmph, and light rainfall re likely to occur at one or two places over Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati, and Kadapa districts.
There is low pressure area formation over Westcentral & adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off the North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha Coasts. Under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood, a low pressure has formed over Westcentral & adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off the North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts on Wednesday.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and become well marked during the next 24 hours. It is likely to move across North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha during the next 48 hours.
Fishermen are advised to avoid venturing into the sea from August 12 to 17.
Some of the major projects like Srisailam, Prakasam Barrage, Nagarjuna Sagar, and Pulichintala in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have almost reached their full reservoir levels (FRL).
