Andhra Tourism Minister Roja to file defamation case against TDP leader over derogatory remarks

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister R K Roja on Tuesday broke down after TDP leader Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy made disparaging remarks against her.

Eyes welled up with tears, Roja said she would file a defamation suit against the TDP leader for disparaging remarks against her.

Murthy (68) was arrested on Monday night for his derogatory remarks against Roja, police said.

A teary-eyed Roja said that men like Murthy not only abuse successful women but also pose a threat to all girls who aspire to follow their dreams.

“If you attempt to silence or suppress my voice, it doesn't work. As long as I am alive, I will continue to support our chief minister and the women of our state. I will continue to highlight the failures of TDP. Just because he (Satyanarayana) was arrested, it doesn't mean I will let it slide. I will take legal action against him and bring him to court for defamation." said Roja.

Further, the minister dared the opposition to visit her constituency to see the development. She also asked the mainstream media whether they support individuals like him who believe that any woman in public life or the workplace has a questionable character. Where is their outrage now?”

Meanwhile, Murthy was produced before a court in Guntur which granted him conditional bail.
