Andhra tragedy: 5 dead, 2 injured in separate road accidents
Witnesses said the impact was so high that both the bikes were tossed up in the air.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 Aug 2022 3:37 AM GMTVisakhapatnam: Five persons were killed and two others suffered injuries in two separate road accidents in north Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
In the first incident, three youngsters were killed and two others injured after the two motorbikes had a head-on collision near Madigunta village under Chintapalli in Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) district.
Witnesses said the impact was so high that both the bikes were tossed up in the air.
The deceased have been identified as G Joseph, K Matsya Raju, and Sanyasi Rao. Police said the accident occurred on Thursday evening. Three people on one bike and two on another were coming from opposite directions.
Joseph died on the spot and four others sustained injuries. Two of the injured, Matsyaraju and Sanyasi Rao, died on way to the hospital.
Police said G Chinabbai and Ch Surya Padal are being treated at Narsipatnam Area Hospital.
In another incident, a motorcyclist and a pedestrian were killed. The incident took place near Chodipalle under Atchutapuram Mandal in the Anakapalli district. The deceased were identified as G Gopinath, an employee with SEZ, and Ch Ramana, a trader.
Police said Gopinath lost control of the bike and hit Ramana, who was crossing the road.
