AP approves promotion of 22 additional superintendents of police

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh government has approved the proposal to promote 22 additional superintendents of police (civil) to the category of superintendents of police (non-cadre) for the panel year 2021-2022. A government order was issued on 28 July by principal secretary Harish Kumar Gupta.

In a letter, the AP director general of police (DGP), K.V Rajendranath Reddy, had proposed promoting eligible additional superintendents of police (civil) to superintendents of police (non-cadre). The departmental promotion committee submitted its recommendations after going through the annual confidential reports, relevant records, and making overall assessment of their service records and work done.


Home (Services-1) department, Government of AP, after careful consideration of the matter, agreed with the recommendations of the departmental promotion committee. The selected names in the panel for the year 2021-2022 are subject to the outcome of court cases, if any, pending before tribunals and courts.
