AP budget 2022: State allots Rs. 43,052.78 cr to agriculture

AP budget 2022: State allots Rs. 43,052.78 cr to agriculture

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh agriculture minister K. Kanna babu presented the agriculture budget for 2022-23 on Friday here with an outlay of Rs. 43,052.78 crore.

The minister said the Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs), which was a game-changer in rural areas and won numerous awards, has been allocated Rs. 18 crore this year. Meanwhile, Rythu Bharosa PM Kisan has been allocated Rs. 7,020 crore, YSR Crop Insurance Rs. 1,802.04 crore, and YSR zero-interest crop loans Rs. 500 crore.

Also, Rs. 200 crore had been allotted for subsidised seeds, Rs. 2,000 crore for Natural Calamities Fund, and Rs. 1,612.62 crore has been given as investment subsidy to farmers. Rs 50 crore was allocated towards integrated agri labs and Rs. 20 crore for ex-gratia to farmers. The annual budget for agriculture is stipulated at Rs. 11,387.69 crore.


For the development of the marketing department, Rs. 614.23 crore has been allotted, while Rs. 248.45 crore has been allocated to the cooperative sector, Rs. 146.41 crore to the food processing department, and Rs. 554.04 crore to the horticulture department.

The sericulture department gets Rs. 98.99 crore and Rs. 421.15 crore has been allocated to Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University. Also, Rs. 59.91 crore has been earmarked for YSR Horticulture University and Rs. 122.50 crore allotted to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University.

An amount of Rs. 1027.82 crore has been allotted to the animal husbandry department and Rs. 337.23 crore to the fisheries department.

The budget has allocated Rs. 5,000 crore for power subsidy, Rs. 8,328 crore for linking MGNREGS to agriculture, Rs. 50 crore to YSR Jala Kala, and Rs. 11,450 crore to the irrigation department.
