AP Cabinet approves renaming Konaseema district; greenlights Green Energy Project
The minister added that the ZP chairpersons of 13 districts will continue as chairpersons for 26 districts
By Newsmeter Network Published on 24 Jun 2022 12:28 PM GMTAmaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet approved several key decisions on 24 June, including renaming the Konaseema district as Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, the pact with Byjus, Ammavodi scheme, and the 3,700 MW Green Energy Project.
After the Cabinet meeting, state minister for information and public relations Chelluboina Venugopala Krishna said the Cabinet had approved the Jagananna Ammavodi scheme under which Rs. 6,594.6 crores will be disbursed to over 43 lakh mothers of school students. He said the state government is committed to providing quality education and has signed a deal with Byjus to guide students in classes IV-X. He also added that the Cabinet has approved the decision to provide tablets to 4.7 lakh students studying in class VIII.
The Cabinet also approved the welfare calendar for July 2022. Funds under Jagananna Vidya Kanuka will be disbursed on 5 July, YSR Vahana Mitra on 13 July, Kapu Nestam on 19 July, and Jagananna Thodu on 26 July. Stating that the government doesn't shirk its responsibilities in providing welfare, the minister said all welfare schemes are being implemented in a transparent manner and eligible people who were left out are being given an opportunity to reapply for the schemes.
Renaming Konaseema
The Cabinet gave its nod to rename the Konaseema district as Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district. The minister added that the ZP chairpersons of 13 districts will continue as chairpersons for 26 districts. He said that now power subsidy will be given to aqua farmers who have up to 10 acres. This figure was earlier five acres.
Green projects
Permission was granted to the Green Energy Project being set up in Andhra Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs. 15,000 crores to generate 3,700 MW of power in a phased manner. Approvals were also accorded for the recruitment of 3,530 people in medical colleges along with 2,558 in hospitals under AP Vaidya Vidhana Parishad across the state.
Further, a relief and rehabilitation package of Rs. 216.71 crore was approved for the displaced families of the Vamsadhara Project. The Cabinet also approved the changes made in the Pay Revision Commission GO as per the recommendations of the committee.
The Cabinet approved providing a Group-1 job to Arjuna Awardee Jyoti Surekha and appointing her as a deputy collector. It also greenlit recruitments in Raj Bhavan, SIPB approvals, 75 acres of land allotment to Wingtech Mobile manufacturing unit in EMC Tirupati, and pay scales to aided colleges under AICTE norms. It canceled Disciplinary Protection Tribunal.
