AP celebrates R-Day with awards, parades & tableaux
The Indian Army was selected as the best Army contingent and the APSP 2nd Battalion—Kurnool was named the second-best Army contingent.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 Jan 2023 12:05 PM GMTAmaravati: Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabushan Harichandan, Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, and other dignitaries participated in the 74th Republic Day celebrations at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium.
During the event, Governor Biswabhushan unfurled the national flag and received a salute from the police force. The police brass band and pipe band led a contingent parade with battalions from all districts.
The Indian Army was selected as the best Army contingent and the APSP 2nd Battalion—Kurnool was named the second-best Army contingent. Bharat Scouts and Guides was selected as the best non-armed contingent and AP Social Welfare Residency School (boys) was recognised as the second-best non-armed contingent. During the award ceremony, the Odisha state police were given special consolation prizes.
Colourful tableaux
Tableaux depicting the state government’s innovative programs and welfare schemes in the last three-and-a-half years were the primary attraction.
Different departments, including agriculture, animal husbandry, education, health and family welfare, Navaratnalu schemes, forest, tourism, woman empowerment, the village and ward secretariats, and the Society for the Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), presented tableaux.
A tableau depicting the welfare schemes of Navaratnalu won first place, the school education department’s digital education theme came in second, and the village and ward secretariat’s tableau got the third prize.
