AP High Court lawyers protest transfer of 2 judges, boycott work

AP High Court lawyers protest transfer of 2 judges, boycott work

Amaravati: Advocates of the Andhra Pradesh High Court boycotted work protesting the transfer of justices Battu Devanand and D. Ramesh.

The Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y Chandrachud, on Thursday, had recommended the transfer of seven High Court judges, including two from the Andhra Pradesh High Court, three from Telangana, and two from the Madras High Court.

On Friday, the lawyers protested the transfer of AP High Court judges, calling it improper and a sign of discrimination. They said they will continue their protest until the decision is rolled back.
