Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh government has postponed the intermediate examinations to 22 April. The decision was taken because the inter exams were clashing with JEE Mains 2022, a national-level engineering entrance examination which is to be held from 22 April to 12 May.
Andhra Pradesh education minister Adimulapu Suresh released the new schedule for the intermediate examinations.
Earlier, they were scheduled to be conducted from 9 to 28 April. Many students had taken to Twitter and other social media platforms after the inter exam dates were announced demanding the postponement of the exams
The practical exams will be held from 11 to 31 March as announced before. The tests will be conducted as per the COVID-19 protocol. The minister said they have completed all arrangements on behalf of the intermediate board. A total of 1,400 centres have been set up for the theory exams and 900 for the practical examinations.
Students need to obtain at least 35 marks to pass the intermediate exam. Additionally, AP students will get grades for their performance. It may be recalled that AP did not conduct the exams last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
