AP Polls: ECI orders transfer of 6 IPS, 3 IAS officers
The ECI has directed the transferred officers to hand over the charge to the officer immediately
By Newsmeter Network Published on 2 April 2024 11:29 AM GMTVijayawada: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday ordered the transfer of six IPS and three IAS officers ahead of the State Assembly and Parliamentary elections in Andhra Pradesh. The ECI had reportedly transferred the officials following a series of complaints against them.
The six IPS transferred are Parmeshawar (Prakasam), Y Ravi Shankar Reddy (Palnadu), P Joshua (Chittoor), KKN Anburajan (Ananthapuram), K Thirumaleshwar (Nellore) and G Pala Raju (Guntur range).
The IAS officers transferred are P Raja Babu (DEO, Krishna), M Gowthami (Ananthapuram) and Dr Lakshmisha (DEO, Tirupati).
The ECI has directed the transferred officers to hand over the charge to the officer immediately below in rank and informed that the officers should not be assigned to any election-related works till the completion of simultaneous elections to the Legislative Assembly and the Parliament.
The commission further asked chief secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy to furnish a panel of three IAS officers for each district and a panel of three IPS officers for each incumbent post of police officers by 5 pm on Tuesday along with their APAR grading for the last five years and vigilance clearance to the commission.
