Kadapa: A few days after the Bengaluru police busted a fake currency racket and arrested two people, including Rasaputra Rajini, the director of Andhra Pradesh Bondili Corporation, a GO has been issued terminating the appointment of Rajani as the nominated non-official director.

The GO, issued by principal secretary to the government G. Jayalakshmi, said the person-in- charge (PIC) of the AP Bondi Welfare and Development Corporation has brought to the notice of the government the arrest of Rasaputra Rajini by the Subramanyapura police of Karnataka.

“As per the rules and regulations of the AP Bondili Welfare and Development Corporation, the government hereby has decided to disqualify and terminate the appointment of Rasaputra Rajani from the position of nominated non-official director of the board of AP Bondili Welfare and Development Corporation with immediate effect,” the GO read.

Rajani was appointed one of the directors of the corporation initially for a period of two years, and later, her tenure was extended as on 16 December 2022.

It may be noted that Rajani was arrested and the police seized 818 fake notes with a face value of Rs. 4,09,000. Rajani and another accused, Charan Singh, of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh were arrested on 24 January when they were reportedly involved in the exchange of fake currency notes with a dealer. A preliminary investigation found that Rajani was involved in the fake currency notes business for a long time. It was found that these notes are being bought from Anantapur at a low price and circulated in Bengaluru.
