AP sees 53% rise in daily COVID-19 cases; Vizag reports highest

There has been a gradual rise in the daily number of COVID-9 cases in the past few days. On 5 January, a total of 434 cases were reported in the state with the highest seen in Chittoor and Visakhapatnam.

AP sees 53% rise in daily COVID-19 cases; Vizag reports highest

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh saw a 53% rise in daily COVID-19 cases reporting 840 new cases on 7 January. The state had reported 547 cases on 6 January.

A release issued by the state command control room said the highest number of cases was reported in Visakhapatnam (183) followed by Chittoor (150) and Krishna district (88). The other districts in the state have reported cases below 50.

On 6 January, the highest cases were reported in Chittoor (96) followed by Visakhapatnam (89).

There has been a gradual rise in the daily number of COVID-9 cases in the past few days. On 5 January, a total of 434 cases were reported in the state with the highest seen in Chittoor and Visakhapatnam. The majority of the cases are being reported in Chittoor, Visakhapatnam, Krishna, and Nellore districts.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 133 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the state. So far, the state has reported 20,79,763 cases. AP has 2,972 active cases as of now.

Meanwhile, the state government said AP ranks top in the country by vaccinating more than 62% of the eligible population in the age group of 15-18 years till date.
