Medical help at doorstep: AP set to introduce family doctor concept
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the doctors would be connected to the families through the village clinics, which are coming up soon.

Under the plan, the doctors will visit every family at frequent intervals.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the doctors would be connected to the families through the village clinics, which are coming up soon.
The chief minister asked the officials to keep the records of the patients available in all the village clinics to the state level hospitals. The patients' information will be stored with the village clinics once the patient undergoes treatment through Arogyasri, the chief minister said.
The basic information of a patient, who visits Primary Health Centre or avails Arogyasri, would be included in the database of the health department. The chief minister said it would be shared with the doctors visiting the families.
Jagan told the officials to complete the construction of village clinics across the state by December this year.
He also told them to attach all village health workers to these clinics. He directed them to share the Covid 19 information too with these village clinics. They should include the number of vaccine doses.
The officials told the chief minister that 12 types of primary treatment methods, 14 types of tests, and 65 types of medicine will be available at village clinics.
They further said that 67 types of basic medical equipment will also be available in these clinics. The chief minister told them to introduce telemedicine services at the village clinics once they become functional.
On Nadu-Nedu in the health department, the chief minister told the officials to speed up renovation of all the government hospitals in the state. He also told them to complete the construction work of all 16 new medical colleges and teaching hospitals.
Referring to vaccinations, the chief minister said priority should be given to teachers and other staff connected to the school education as the schools are set to reopen on August 16. He told the officials to prevent crowds at marriages and other functions.
