Apache Footwear to invest Rs. 800 cr on new manufacturing unit at Srikalahasti
Apache has already established one of the units in YSR Kadapa district and is expected to provide employment to 2,000 people.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 23 Jun 2022 12:01 PM GMTTirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for Apache Footwear Group at Inangalur in Srikalahasti mandal on 23 June. Apache is set to increase its capacity and invest Rs. 800 crores to establish a manufacturing unit.
Speaking at the ceremony, Jagan said, "This manufacturing unit is spread across 250 acres and is set to generate employment for 10,000 people." The unit will be ready for operations by September 2023, bringing in 80% employment for the local people.
Apache has already established one of the units in YSR Kadapa district and is expected to provide employment to 2,000 people.
Business destination
Andhra Pradesh has been holding the pole position in "ease of doing business" and has been ranked no. 1 by the World Bank and DPIIT since 2016. It has achieved 100% compliance on 187 reform action points as part of the Business Reform Action Plan 2019.
Panel Optodisplay Technology Pvt. Ltd. (POTPL ā TCL India) has set up its manufacturing unit in the unit with a proposed total investment of Rs. 1,230 crores. It is set to employ close to 3,500 people. Under the trial production, over 1,000 employees have already joined the workforce of the company.
Sunny Opotech, a picture generation unit that manufactures camera modules, has invested Rs. 100 crores out of the proposed Rs. 280 crores and will employ 1,200 people in Tirupati.
ā¢ About 96 large and mega industries with an investment of Rs. 39,467 crores are grounded so far, generating employment for about 60,000 people.
ā¢ About 28,343 MSME industries are grounded with an investment of around Rs. 47,490 crores, generating 2.48 lakh jobs.
ā¢ 56 large and mega projects with a total investment of Rs. 43,972 crores are under active implementation which are likely to be commissioned in the next one to two years and with a potential to create employment for over 97,000 people.
ā¢ Five projects are under active consideration. They will invest Rs. 1,365 crores, generating employment for around 10,000 people.
ā¢ 92 projects have shown an interest in the state and active discussions are underway. The investment in these projects is about Rs. 2.19 lakh crores with the potential to create employment for 3.19 lakh people.
