By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 April 2023 3:24 AM GMTTirumala: Owing to consecutive holidays this week, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has requested devotees to plan their travel accordingly.
Tirumala is witnessing a huge rush since Friday. All the compartments in Vaikuntham 1 and 2 are filled. Heavy footfall has been the order of the day on the Alipiri footpath route.
TTD said it is taking nearly two days for darshan for the tokenless devotees.
TTD has appealed to devotees to make note of this and plan their pilgrimage accordingly. Or else they have to wait with patience in the serpentine queue lines till their turn for darshan.
Post-pandemic, this has been the situation in Tirumala with a huge rush mostly seen during weekends and holidays. There was also a stampede-like situation seen a few months ago due to the heavy rush of passengers.
Summer plans:
Tirumala is set to witness a peak summer vacation rush from 15 April to 15 July. Officials are reducing VIP breaks, SRIVANI, tourism quota, virtual sevas, and Rs. 300 darshan tickets while giving high priority to ordinary devotees. The VIPs are requested to reduce referral letters during these three peak months so that the common devotees get a chance to have a quick darshan without having to wait for a long time.
There are more than 7,500 rooms in Tirumala that could accommodate nearly 40,000 pilgrims, out of which about 85% of the rooms have been reserved for common devotees.
