Centre approves two projects in Amaravati with outlay of ₹2,787 Cr

Amaravati: Centre has approved two long-pending projects in Amaravati with a total outlay of ₹2,787 crore.

Of this, ₹1,329 crore has been allocated for the construction of residential quarters for central government employees, and ₹1,458 crore for building the Common Central Secretariat.

Union Minister of State, Dr Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar, and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman for approving the two projects in Amaravati.

He observed that these approvals reflect the NDA government's steadfast commitment to building Amaravati.

During an earlier meeting, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has cleared the tender process for key infrastructure development over 1,450 acres in the capital region, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,052 crore.

In May, the State government had accorded administrative sanction for the release of Rs 2,100 crore towards the Amaravati capital city development project for the first quarter of the financial year 2025–26.
