According to police, while playing in the waters, the children went deep into the pond and started drowning. When the children started shouting for help, locals who saw them drowning, immediately jumped into the pond. While two girls were safely rescued, two bodies were shifted to Kandukur hospital. The bodies of the other two boys were retrieved later by swimmers.

Prakasam: In a drowning incident, four boys drowned while two girls were rescued from a pond at Akkacheruvu Palem village in Zarugumalli Mandal of Prakasam district. The incident happened on Saturday evening when six children went swimming in Bana Gunta pond.

The deceased were identified as Chintala Koushik (16), Munnangi Sivaji (13), Maddineni Subrahmanyam (15), and Abbayigari Bhagavannarayana (11).

According to police, while playing in the waters, the children went deep into the pond and started drowning. Joy trip turns tragic

Srikakulam: In another incident on Saturday evening, the joy trip turned tragic for a family who had gone swimming at NGR Puram beach under Ranastahlam Mandal in the Srikakulam district. Three of a family went missing and are feared to have drowned. All of them are natives of Visakhapatnam.

The victims are Tirupati Ganesh (33), his daughter Manasa (18), and his niece Deevana (9). The three of them and other family members went to play in the waters. While they were swimming in the waters, strong currents pulled them deep into the sea. Police have launched a search operation with the help of local fishermen.

Ganesh, a native of Bheemunipatnam, along with his wife and two children went to his in-law's house in Srikakulam to spend time with them for summer vacation. He and his family decided to return home after spending the weekend. On Saturday, they all went to the beach to play in the waters.
