CM Naidu announces DA health benefits for govt staff ahead of Diwali
The Chief Minister waived property tax for the offices of the employees' association buildings and clearance of promotions to RTC staff on Deepavali festival day

Amaravati: As part of the Diwali festival bonanza, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the release of one Dearness allowance to employees from November 1 onwards.
The State government will spend Rs 160 crore towards payment of DA every month. He said that one instalment of earned leave will be cleared for the police in two instalments of Rs 105 crore each.
Streamlining health services
Regarding health insurance, the Chief Minister said the health scheme will be streamlined in 60 days to provide health care to employees in real time. Coming to childcare leave, he said that employees can utilise the leave of 180 days before their retirement.
The Chief Minister waived property tax for the offices of the employees' association buildings and clearance of promotions to RTC staff on Deepavali festival day. He promised the redesignation of some posts by changing the nomenclature. He said that he appealed to the employees' association to leave the PRC issue to him, as it is a matter of days for him to announce the PRC.
Welfare measure of employees
Addressing media persons at the camp office, the Chief Minister said that the State government is committed to the welfare of employees and as part of it, despite of financial crisis, released Rs 15,921 crore dues to employees and uploaded Rs 23,556 crore dues of the previous government’s regime in the system.
He said the State government has been spending Rs 51,452 crore towards establishment, which comes to 91 per cent, while the neighbouring states have reduced expenditure on establishment. The expenditure on establishment in Telangana stands at 38 per cent, Tamil Nadu 42 per cent and Karnataka 39 per cent.
He said the State government has been paying salaries on the first day of every month despite of financial crisis. He said that the cabinet subcommittee will discuss the issues of employees and resolve them.
