CM Naidu lays stone for Rs 260-crore expansion works at Amaravati TTD temple

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the TTD Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Venkatapalem of Amaravati will be further developed in two phases. He said the project will cost Rs 260 crore and be built on the lines of Tirumala in two and a half years.

He laid the foundation for the Mahaprakaram Chaturdwara Gopuram on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the first phase will include Maha Prakaram around the temple, Maha Rajagopuram, Arjita Seva mandapam, Ratha Mandapam, Anjaneyaswamy temple, Pushkarini

The second phase will see the construction of Mada Street around the temple, approach roads, Annadana complex, rest houses for devotees, residential complex for archakas and staff, administrative buildings, Dhyana mandir and vehicle parking facilities.

Stating that AP capital was named after Amaravati with the ‘sankalpam’ of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, the Chief Minister said that he grew up in the vicinity of Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati. He appealed to devotees to come forward for the development of temples.

CM Naidu discusses development works with temple officials

Earlier, the Chief Minister offered prayers at homa gundam and laid the foundation for temple development works. He went through the photo exhibition of temple development plans and enquired the officials about each development project. He interacted with both the officials and archakas of TTD at the venue.

Later, in a review meeting conducted at the Secretariat on the Endowments department and the TTD, the Chief Minister said that priority should be given to honour the sentiments of devotees and development works should be taken up with their consent.

He said the best practices being adopted in TTD should be followed in all the temples in the state. The officials informed the Chief Minister about the steps taken to improve the quality of Prasadam and Annadanam, including the procurement of provisions.
