COVID-19: AP reduces RTPCR testing price to Rs 350

Vijayawada: The Government of Andhra Pradesh reduced the rates of COVID-19 testing in the ICMR-approved private NABL Labs (RT-PCR) from Rs.499 to Rs.350 on Wednesday. The revised rate is inclusive of all rates (test rates, PPE, and VTM).

The decision has come into place when the CEO, Dr. YSRAHCT & State Nodal Officer for Labs, COVID-19 reported that in view of the increased availability of kits in the market and of competition as more firms started manufacturing RNA extraction kits and RT-PCR kits, the cost of reagents/ kits has decreased.

He has therefore requested the Government to issue revised orders in the matter. After careful examination of the matter, the government has decided to revise the RT-PCR test rates. Testing can be done only in ICMR-approved laboratories.
The government directed all the private NABL & ICMR approved labs to follow the new rate.
