COVID shocker: Hospital refuses online payment; patient dies on road at Srikakulam
The management refused to accept online money transfer and demanded cash payment.

The incident took place in front of GMR Valalakshmi Care Hospital.
Hailing from Penta Agraharam, the patient was brought to a corporate hospital after she developed complications at home. However, the management of GMR Valalakshmi Care Hospital, allegedly refused to accept online money transfer and demanded upfront cash payment, the family said.

The family members kept her in the auto-rickshaw and went looking for the nearest ATM to withdraw cash. When they returned, they found her lying on the road. She had died in the auto-rickshaw. The driver put her body on the roadside and disappeared.
When the family members requested passersby, revenue, police, and others to help, everyone refused. Despite receiving information, municipal commissioner did not come out of his chambers.
Later, Local television channel reporter Vaddadi Rajesh came forward to help. Wearing a PPE kit, he shifted the body to the crematorium in a vehicle. On knowing what happened, the District collector J Niwas asked the Rajam officials to inquire into the incident and submit a report.
While the hospitals authorities claimed that they were not informed about the patients nor her condition.
