`Doom machalayee….': Vizag police crack down on stunt biking; arrest 8
People residing on Beach Road said some youngsters have been indulging in illegal bike racing and stunts during the night hours

Despite the surprise raids, the illegal bike racing and dangerous stunts continue on the beach road and other places in Vizag city. Police said they have registered five cases (four cases related to rash and negligent driving and one case related to the assault on a driver of an APSRTC bus).
City police have received videos related to groups of youngsters indulging in rash driving on roads during the night. One of the youngsters also assaulted an RTC driver. Based on the videos, police began an investigation and identified some of the youngsters.
"We have identified that more than 35 youngsters indulged in rash and negligent driving and bike students on Saturday night. The youngsters also blocked the road and didn't allow vehicles to pass. When the RTC driver questioned them for blocking the road, one of the youngsters beat him and tried to damage the bus.
We have arrested the youngster under section 353 332 148 r/w149 IPC and section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984," police said. Hunt is on to nab other accused involved in the rash and negligent driving. "We will also seize their bikes. We will register criminal cases against them," said Sumit Sunil Garud, DCP
People residing on Beach Road said some youngsters have been indulging in illegal bike racing and stunts during the night hours and on weekends.
"The youngsters are riding the vehicles at high-speed and breaking several safety norms They are putting the lives of pedestrians at risk. We have been appealing to the police to form special teams to nab such people. Though the police have claimed that they installed CCTV cameras on the beach, they failed to identify and nab such violators," said K Srinivas a resident of Vizag city.
