AP road accidents: Eight pilgrims among 11 killed in Krishna, Nellore
Eleven people were killed and 15 others injured in two different road accidents in Krishna and Nellore districts on Saturday night.

Vijayawada: Eleven people were killed and 15 others injured in two different road accidents in Krishna and Nellore districts on Saturday night.
The first accident occurred in Nellore district when a lorry rammed into a tempo vehicle at Damaramadugu village in Buchirajupalem Mandal of the district. Eight persons were killed and six others injured in the accident
Five of the deceased were women. Police said that a group of people from Tamil Nadu were on a religious pilgrimage to Srisailam. When their vehicle reached Damaramagugu village, a speedy lorry coming from the opposite side rammed into their tempo killing seven people on the spot. Another injured succumbed in the hospital. Police have registered a case and launched a probe.
In another accident, three persons were killed and eight others injured when a tipper lorry collided with a four-wheel passenger carrier in Krishna district. There were 13 people on board the carrier when the incident occurred.
The deceased were laborers who were en route to Pedana Mandal for work. The injured were shifted to Machilipatanam Government Hospital. Police have registered a case against the lorry driver for negligence and over-speeding.
