Talking to the reporters after a meeting, the minister said the government would lease the lands in a most transparent manner to earn income. ``The lands which were grabbed or encroachment would be taken back. These would be fenced to prevent any encroachment,'' Vellampalli said.
He said the lands in the city limits would be protected with Common Good Fund or under PPP mode. He said the management of MANSAS was not transparent and the government would soon conduct an audit of the accounts.
Earlier, he visited Simachalam temple and said Ashok Gajapati Raju could not digest the fact that his niece became the chairperson of both MANSAS and Simhachalam. He has been unnecessarily blaming the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on the temple affairs.
"Ashok has to clear his stand on the Panchagrama land issue. It is a contentious issue pending for decades,"' the minister said. He said that the temple priests have told him that the income of the temple would increase fourfold if the land issue was solved.
He also condemned the TD leader for spreading rumors that temple money was used for the Vahana Mitra scheme. "Gone are the days of princely states. Ashok is still thinking that he is a king," Vellampalli said
