Tirupati: A Muslim couple has donated Rs 1.02 crore to Lord Venkateswara temple managed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Abdul Ghani and his wife Subeena Bhanu, who are running a business in Chennai, donated the money to the temple.
TTD executive officer AV Dharma Reddy received the cheque from the family. Later, TTD Veda-pandits performed Vedasirvachanam for the family members. Out of the total donation, Rs 15 lakh was donated to Sri Venkateswara Nithya-Annaprasadam trust, and Rs 87 lakh for the new kitchen utensils and furniture for the Sri Padmavati Guest House.
Earlier, In 2020, the couple donated a multifunctional tractor-mounted sprayer for using a disinfectant on the temple premises during the COVID-19 pandemic. They also donated a refrigerator truck worth Rs 35 lakh to the temple for the logistics of vegetables.
