Four persons including two girls were killed when their car rammed into a slowly moving lorry at Penukonda area in Anantapur district on Tuesday morning.

Anantapur: Four persons including two girls were killed when their car rammed into a slowly moving lorry at Penukonda area in Anantapur district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Rekha, 21, Anchal Singh, 21, Mahabub Allam, 31, and Manoj Mittal, 38. The deceased hailed from Bengaluru and Delhi.

Police said the incident took place when the speedy car was heading towards Hyderabad from Bengaluru.

Police also recovered some beer bottles from the car. Police may collect the blood samples of the driver to ascertain whether he was driving under the influence of liquor or not.

Cops suspect that the driver might have lost control over the car due to over-speeding and hit another vehicle.

Police with the support of locals retrieved the bodies and shifted them to the government hospital for postmortem after registering a case.
