From Godavari Riverfront to Araku Hills, Andhra Pradesh woos tourism investors at Davos

Davos: The Godavari riverfront, from Polavaram to Bhadrachalam, offers exceptional potential for riverfront tourism and destination resorts, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said, highlighting the State’s rich natural assets.
He added that destinations such as Konaseema, Gandikota, Araku Valley and Lambasingi are ideally suited for high-quality tourism and hospitality projects.

The Chief Minister made these observations during a meeting with representatives of Tamara Leisure Experiences, led by its CEO Srishti Shibulal, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos.
The discussions focused on potential investments in the hospitality and tourism sectors across Andhra Pradesh.
Tourism projects given industrial status
CM Naidu informed the delegation that the State government has accorded industrial status to tourism-related projects to fast-track approvals and encourage private participation.
He said tourism plays a vital role in economic growth and employment generation, benefiting local communities across regions.
State fully connected for tourism growth
Stressing the improved infrastructure, the Chief Minister said all major tourist destinations in Andhra Pradesh are now well connected through roads and airports.
With enhanced connectivity and policy support, he remarked that the State is ‘fully unlocked’ for tourism investments, from North Andhra to Rayalaseema.
Eco-tourism and homestays in focus
Tamara Leisure expressed interest in developing eco-tourism parks in tribal areas, aligning with sustainable tourism practices. The company also conveyed its willingness to explore homestay projects, including in and around Visakhapatnam and other tourist hubs.
Community-first development model
Emphasising a ‘community-first’ approach, Tamara Leisure representatives said the company is keen on providing skill development and employment opportunities for tribal youth, ensuring that local communities become partners in tourism-led development.
The Chief Minister welcomed the proposals and assured full cooperation from the State government, stating that Andhra will extend all necessary support if the company comes forward with concrete investment plans.
