Guntur: 3 women laborers killed, 8 injured in road accident; CM Naidu announces financial support

Guntur: Three women farm laborers were killed and eight others sustained injuries when an APSRTC bus collided with an auto-rickshaw at Neerukonda village in Guntur district on Monday.
The incident happened when the women were traveling in an autorickshaw to Neerukonda village for chili harvesting.
The three deceased women were identified as Arunakumari, Nancharamma, and Seetharavamma. All of them were residents of Suddapalli village in Chebrolu mandal.
The injured have been shifted to Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH) for treatment.
Upon receiving information, Chebrolu police rushed to the spot.
Guntur district's Superintendent of Police (SP) S Satish said the accident occurred when the autorickshaw attempted to overtake a vehicle amid thick fog. Despite low visibility due to foggy conditions, the autorickshaw driver tried to overtake a vehicle, resulting in the mishap, he said.
The autorickshaw was proceeding toward Ponnur from Chebrolu while the bus was on its way to Tenali. A case has been registered by the Chebrolu police, and further investigation is on, the SP said.
Naidu express concern over road accident
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern over the road accident in Guntur district.
Naidu said that the families of the deceased, Arunakumari, Nancharamma, and Seetharavamma, would be provided financial support. He also directed officials to provide better treatment for the injured.
